Tarli is an up and coming Italian pianist. Reminds you of two peas in a pod when she plays Steingraeber, the finest grand piano. Liszt and Wagner have loved the craftsmanship which staunchly adheres to traditional manufacturing method but at the same time introduces new technology, such as carbon fibre made soundboard. Steingraeber, with its unique sound, has a reputation equivalent to that of Steinway, Bosendorfer, Bechstein, and Fazioli.
Tarli plays romantic music as though it is classic music – simple and elegant without excessive colour or decoration. Her abstract sound resonates with Schoenberg piece which vividly makes you realise that a very long string connects from Schubert to Schoenberg. Not certain if Steingraeber is contributing to her expression of the piece or not.
